For more than 32 years the Chocolate Church Arts Center has been a cultural resource for residents of Sagadahoc and surrounding counties of Androscoggin, Knox, Lincoln, Cumberland and Kennebec. The center piece facility is the former Central Congregational Church, an 1847 Gothic revival structure designed by noted architect Arthur Gilman.
In addition to visiting art galleries, you can view the work of many artists and artisans at various events throughout the year. In July and October, you can enjoy the Harbor Arts Festival in Camden where booths and tents feature more than 100 exhibitors. July also brings the Home and Garden Tour where you can enjoy the beautifully landscaped gardens in and around Camden. In September the Country Roads Artists & Artisans Tour leads you to more than 20 open studios in the Midcoast. The Country Inn at Camden/Rockport staff hope you have a chance to experience Midcoast Maine and all the wonderful culture our area has to offer.
